Savannah- Mrs. Peggy Youngblood, died Thursday, December 27, 2007.
Peggy was a native of Atlanta and lived in Savannah for over 30 years. She worked in real estate locally for 20 years, was an artist, an avid bridge player and an active member of Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Rufus W. Youngblood, her husband of 53 years, who was the Deputy Director of the U.S. Secret Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Denham and Bessie Yarbrough Denham of Atlanta, her brother, George W. Denham, Jr. and sister, Ann Callahan.
Survivors include her daughter, Joy Youngblood and her fiancé, Joseph Farr, Jr. of Savannah; son, Mark Youngblood and his wife, Martha Tison Youngblood of Wallingford, CT; daughter, Candy Hughes and her husband Ken of Savannah; daughter, Rebecca Vaughn, M.D. and her husband Gus of Acworth, GA; sisters, Jane Carroll of Cummings, GA and Dale Shaffield of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Ann Sheppard of Atlanta, GA; cousins, Sid Denham of Savannah and Sam Denham of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Tonya R. Ford, Ginna R. McAuliffe, Amy Youngblood, Adam Youngblood, Tiffany H. Flanders, Jeremy Hughes, Augustus Vaughn and Lindsey Vaughn; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church with Reverend Andrew Meeker officiating.
